More From Gayla Williams

"Practice is the mother of skill."

Someone once commented that I've done lots of things. I laughed, saying it's due to not sticking with anything. But, actually, it's due to curiosity and practice.

As a girl, all things artful fascinated me, but I had no natural talent for anything. I took piano lessons (thanks, Mom, for enduring that); I liked English class for writing; loved art class to break up the school day, and sang enough above average to be in the choir.

Twenty years past marriage and son, Josh, I found time and opportunity to paint with oils, acrylics, and watercolor.  I also facilitated a writers' group at Barnes & Noble and taught classes called "Write and Self-Publish" (six books published to date).

While working in business services, I gained computer skills which I now teach individually by the hour. Additionally, in an effort to fine like-minded people who want to paint, I offer a water color class in my area's school district.

‚ÄčIt is my hope that you can't wait to get out of bed each day to learn new things.
